L’Affriole – Paris

Based on a recommendation from friends, we tried to get into Cafe Chez L’Ami Jean, but they were booked, and it is a tiny place! They recommended we try L’Affriole a few doors down, and it was great!
They serve a radish and truffle dip to start, wonderful crusty bread. We ordered a Domaine Michel Vire Clesse, another white burgundy, and it was really good.
Had Asparagus soup with fois gras fingers dusted in spices. Then, Salmon Croustillants (like a salmon chunk as an egg roll) with beans topped with foam; red fish done perfectly. Desserts were lemon mousse tart, and Blanc Manger aux framboises, which also came with ice cream and fresh cherries. It was all terrific. What a night!
