Scott’s Restaurant – Healthy Dining

We are on a mission to incorporate fine dining with healthy eating, and we achieved that last night at Scott’s Restaurant in Costa Mesa (next to Westin Hotel).  Our old buddy Rick is the GM there, and he always makes us feel special.

We started with Shrimp Cocktail for me, and Manhattan Clam Chowder (the red, not creamy type) for Susi.  Both were delicious.

I ordered the Wild King Salmon, served with no starch, just veggies roasted in olive oil.  Their produce is from an organic farm in Riverside that only serves 3 restaurants.  All the veggies there are wonderful.  This salmon is so good I actually ate it two days in a row!  Lunch Thursday and Dinner Friday.

Susi had Grilled Hawaiian Ono, served with Bok Choy in a spicy peanut sauce.  This came with rice cakes and plantains, but you could certainly get just veggies (no starch).  Susi enjoyed this very much.

Rick asked Chef Mike to come out and say hello, and even though we’ve been coming here for years, it was the first time we’d met him.  He told us to always say hello when we come in, and if we want lots of veggies, he’d be happy to build a plate around that for us.

We both had a big plate of mixed fresh berries for dessert, (forgot to photograph them) and left feeling very satisfied both with the food, and with being good while enjoying great food.

My company is hosting an event at Scott’s in a few weeks, and their private meeting and party space is wonderful, and their events manager is very helpful.
